Financial and psychological implications of COVID-19 pandemic through the lens of university students in the Philippines

Abstract
The advent of COVID-19 pandemic has forced an unprecedented lockdown across the globe. The outbreak has disrupted family routines and not only caused pestilential effects to human health, but also catalyzed adverse effects to the economy and the educational system. In the Philippines, schools were closed and such all activities relative to education. With this, educational sectors offered different learning modalities to direct teaching-learning instruction. Two of the learning modalities utilized by university students are the online distance learning and limited face-to-face classes. In these learning setups, teachers and students are greatly affected, considering their needs and support. Nonetheless, this article explores the financial and psychological implications of COVID-19 pandemic among university students during the course of navigating the educational spectrum amidst stupendous and unfavorable phenomena that transpired in the global history.
